Island Pharmacy Services - Your Best
Compounding Value
Many times veterinarians or pet owners call IPS
for price quotes on drug treatments. By definition, compounded
medications are often more expensive than stock, manufactured drugs.
That is because each compounded prescription is an individual, custom-made
dose. Many compounds use name brand or generic drugs as the source
of the chemical and then, through compounding, we are able to produce the
specific custom dose required.
IPS welcomes your inquiries and is happy to
provide price quotes. Don’t hesitate to call just for a price quote,
even for drugs you have ordered in the past. We have dozens of drugs
that GO DOWN in price every year! There are continual changes in the
drug industry, with many brand name drugs being introduced in generic or
over-the-counter versions. In addition, our huge volume of compounding
allows us to make larger purchases of bulk chemicals, which often reduces the
price even further.
Often price is a large factor in weighing
treatment options. Price is not the only factor, however.
IPS is a compounding ONLY pharmacy - ALL we do is prepare one-of-a-kind,
hand-made, custom prescriptions. IPS prepares literally thousands
of compounded prescriptions using hundreds of different drugs. We
would not be surprised to hear that someone somewhere might have a lower price
on one particular drug; another pharmacy might have a lower price on a second
drug.
We know, however, that IPS can not be beat when
it comes to the complete selection of available compounds and hard-to-find
drugs, professional compounding experience, product quality, efficient and
friendly customer service, speed of delivery, ease of ordering, shipping to
the clinic or patient, satisfaction guarantee, AND price. This total
package is what has made Island Pharmacy Services the Number 1
provider of compounded prescriptions since 1990! Your satisfaction is
unconditionally guaranteed. If you are not satisfied with the quality of
the compounded medications provided by IPS your cost will be immediately
refunded.
One additional note on prices: compounded
drugs cannot be sold by IPS at “wholesale price”. The cost
of the drug is the same whether it is shipped to a clinic or patient. If
a compounded drug is shipped to a clinic for in office use or on behalf of the
patient, or if it is sent directly to the patient, the cost charged must be
the same by law. It is perfectly legal and ethical for a clinic to
charge a dispensing fee, however. Call the Compounding Specialists at
IPS at 800-328-7060 with any pricing questions you may have.
